I interviewed over a dozen stone masons that I was not happy with before I was referred to Mark Allgood. I was told by the largest stone dealer in the state that Mark was the best stone mason in the state. Another dealer said the same thing. These references proved true. Allgood Construction Services' attention to detail, subject matter expertise, and workmanship far surpassed anything I had seen or expected. They hand saw cut every one of my 5" thick stones to insure straight mortar lines. The amount of time and effort that they put into the project was incredible. In addition to their quality standards, another big benefit I realized was Mark's design expertise. His years of experience and gifting in this area produced nothing short of an artistic masterpiece. That may sound like an exaggeration. If you want proof ask him for my contact information and come see for yourself. Don't hire a stonemason without first looking at his work in person. Pictures lie. I had several industry professionals stop by during Mark's build. Each one of them said that they had not seen the level of craftsmanship that was on display. It was fascinating for everyone to get to watch his team at work. Mark is also a super nice guy who was always available when needed. I have never and I mean NEVER had such a good experience with customer service of any kind as I had with Mark at Allgood. I reached out at the last minute and was desperate because we were moving and needed the side of our house repaired. He was communicative and flexible. He had the wall done within 5 days. I never even saw him. He came took photos, found the brick we needed, and was in and out in a matter of hours. The quote we got for this from other companies was exorbitant, to say the least. He did the work for more than what was fair. With today’s economy, you never hear anyone talk about getting fair deals anymore, but this was beyond fair and he was so honest. He could have charged me double and I would have smiled and been happy with it but he didn’t. On top of all of this, the work was impeccable. You couldn’t even tell there had been repair. I have never been happier and to be honest, it has restored my hope in fair and honest work when I thought we had lost it in this new generation of people only caring about profit. Well, we discovered, it's all true! The Allgood Team is amazing! Yes, they perform the basics - show up on time, work until the job is done, clean up is perfect, and everyone is very pleasant to talk to. But that is just the beginning - these masons are professionals. They make sure the job is done with precision and to the customer's design specifications. These are qualities that are hard to find today. Mark is the President and was extremely responsive to all our questions and concerns. His professionalism and knowledge of the masonry field are beyond anyone else we talked to - and we talked to several companies. Allgood was by far superior in every aspect and on every level. My husband and I contacted Mark Allgood to update the entryway of our house. Mark presented us with an itemized quote in just a few days after meeting with us and discussing the look we wanted. Although our start day was delayed because of coronavirus issues, Mark kept in contact with us for an updated start date. Mark’s team was efficient to demo the sidewalk and entry area. Mark and his team poured a new sidewalk that flared to the width of the new steps. They installed a combination of fieldstone and Tennessee blue stone on the steps. The fieldstone in the entryway looks wonderful. Two new cedar posts on fieldstone bases complete the updated look. Mark and his team worked hard and finished the project in a timely manner, working around rain delays. They were very pleasant and friendly to have on location. The workmanship is excellent. The finished project is just what we wanted, and we would definitely recommend Mark Allgood to others.
